Hello to everyone! I am a newbie here. This forum was recommended to me by Lori. I live in New Braunfels, Texas with my husband Bo and my dog Honey. The children are all grown and living their own lives so I have time on my hands...although these past holidays were busy ones for me and I didn't get to work on any sculptures. But now it is a new year and I am picking up my clay again. I wish you all a good new year and may you all create wonderful Santas. God bless.

Thank you all for making me so welcome! I really am hoping that this group is the perfect place for me. I have been creating Santas since 1998 and love to see other renditions of the Jolly Old Elf. So I will be looking at your pictures and loving every minute of it. Unti later...God bless.

Hi Magic! Welcome to the best friends hideout, lol. Matter of fact howdy neightbor. I just stuck my head out the door, hollard, so maybe Interstate 35 will carry it down your way! Please feel right at home here, there is lots to see, so much that sometimes I get lost. Lori throws me line. Our community jester is Regi, and our shy guy is Darel. Got any questions just ask. We are all here to help! Huggs Paula

Newbie-Hello Empty Thanks!

Post  MagicElf 13/1/2010, 14:54

Thanks for the welcome, Paula! Do you live somewhere on Interstate 35? Well, howdy neighbor to you to. My husband and I moved here 5 years ago from East Texas. I love it here! But I am having a hard time finding a place to sell my Santas. Hopefully, I will get that taken care of with this group and listing on Ebay and other places. I really want to continue to create them, but I don't have enough space to keep all of them. Thanks for the headsup about the other "groupers". I hope to talk to them too.
God Bless, Kathy (MagicElf)

Newbie-Hello 199299 Newbie-Hello 617210 I apologize for being late to the greetings! Kathy, it is truly wonderful that you have found your way here! I know you will like it here. It gets quiet sometimes, but that is because we all get bit by the santa making bug. hehe I do normally check in here frequently, so never be afraid to post....as I usually do catch them in time. If I can help in any way, I will be delighted to give it my best shot. You've already met a good portion of the group, and Paula has summed us up pretty nicely. LOL Trolineke is the farthest away from home here, but we love her odd little troll family. Our doors are always open to those that love Santa and doll making as well.

I'm very happy you come along! Looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful creations!

Hugs,
Lori

Newbie-Hello 199299 The community jester huh? ROFL!!!!!!!!!! Yep..that's me....I'm not really funny on purpose...it's just I have this great knack of saying something and it just not coming out quite right...hehe Newbie-Hello 745140 . I rather thought I was the sweet tenderhearted angel of the group...ok ok so that might be stretching it a bit....HEY Paula and Lori..I heard that!!!!!

Kathy...you will LOVE this group and I'm sure that we will love you and your Santa's even more.

Ineke....I thought you were just telling Kathy Hello and welcome WITH ME....not that you got the names mixed up...that's what you meant....Right?? RIGHT!!!!!!!!!! Newbie-Hello 699332

I'm hoping that my BIL is going to help some of us out if any one is interested. I think since Kathy stated that she hoped this might be a great place to find an avenue for selling it would be a good time to mention it. He is a web designer and approached me with something he would like to do. He wants to start a online artist gallery...no fees to join. He would have an artist Bio section....a gallery section (of course duhhhh) and for anyone that has a website or blogsite he will link those to the gallery for you. He will only ask that any item we place with him stays with him and there would be an agreement he draws up for how much time an item would be listed. He will cover any sales tax of items sold. He is thinking of maybe a 25% commission for him. We would send him photos of the pieces we wanted to display for sell and he would set them up professionally in the gallery. Then we would ship to the buyer from our homes. It is still being tossed around a bit but I'm hoping he will decide to do it in another few months. If anyone would be interested just let me know. I think this could be a good thing!!! Newbie-Hello 535553

Regg, i remember you speaking about this before, and I wondered what happened to it, me personally I think it's a grand idea. We need a web master in here, Patty is still recovering, and me i really don't know to much about web design. I have trouble spelling, so I hope you two are still tharashing this around. You know the profits for Mr. Bill (Oh Oh Oh , Oh nooooooooo) wouldn't be much to start out with ad it will still have to be cleared by Patty. Having a way to sell my stuff is priority right now other wise I may have to stop if I don't have a way to buy more clay. ARGGGGGGG. Thats like a junkie not having opium. huggs Paula

Newbie-Hello Empty Junkie

Post  MagicElf 14/1/2010, 17:40

Paula,
I know what you mean about being a junkie...I have to have my "fix". And I don't know where I am going to put any more Santas if they get made. I am running out room. So I really need to sell a couple of them. Right now I am working on a very small fairy child....so she won't take up much room. LOL Newbie-Hello 313583 I also need to buy some more clay, but it has been raining and I won't get out in it (been sick). I am waiting on sunshine. Have a nice day/evening.
God Bless,
Kathy
